Andrew Ehlers was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in Georgia. Andy graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Sports Management. During his college years he met Jesus and began to serve Him through his church as Director of Middle School Ministries. Andy continued his education at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina where he received a Masters of Divinity and met his future wife, Tanya. After seminary, they started High Tide Church. Andy's family includes his wife, Tanya and four children. His interests include his family, sports and finding ways to connect the two areas in ministry. Andy's passion is to teach the un-compromised Word of God.




    Leslie attended York College of Pennsylvania and received his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. A member of the Delaware State Police for 25+ years, Les is currently a criminal investigative unit supervisor. Les has served the church as a volunteer in a variety of ministry environments and capacities including; children, middle school, and youth ministry, leadership team, missions, small groups and men's ministry. Leslie and his wife Tracie have lived in the Bethany Beach and Fenwick area for over 20 years. They were married in 1992 and have two daughters, Lindsey and Lauren. Leslie's interests include spending time with family and friends, serving, sports and reading.




    Tom worked in the steel industry in an apprenticeship program prior to finding his career as a firefighter. By the grace of God, he was saved in 1972 and continues to be amazed that God would use him to further His Kingdom. Since moving to Delaware in 2005, Tommy has served at High Tide as SmallGroup leader and coordinator, Jamaica Missions Leader, and Elder. Tommy married Sandy Weatherly in 1970. Together they raised two beautiful daughters who have blessed them with 7 terrific grandchildren. After a 30+ year career, Tommy retired from the Baltimore County Fire Department and is now more able to pursue his passion, serving his Lord Jesus Christ.




    Mario was born in Fort Lee, Virginia and moved to Delaware when he was 10 years old. A 1992 graduate of Indian River High School, Mario eventually married Brandi, a strong Christian influence in his life. Together, they are raising four beautiful children, Alexa, Desmond, Maric, and Candon. Mario committed his life to Jesus in 2008 and came to High Tide the following year. As Deacon of Facilities , he serves by scheduling setup/tear-down teams, assisting the Elders and helping with the many physical needs of the church. He also volunteers in GForce. Mario's motto, "I am blessed, put me to the test!"




    Gordon was born in "Balmer," and grew up in Carroll County, Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland College Park and graduated in 1969 with a degree in WIldlife Management. Gordon was among the first people baptized at High Tide. He has been an important part of the church from its early days at Lord Baltimore Elementary, serving in all areas; custodial duties, driving the truck, parking lot, drama productions, set-up/tear-down, working with the youth and children's ministry, serving on the the leadership team. There are very few areas in which he hasn't served. Gordon and his wife Shirley have two daughters and five grandchildren. He loves deer hunting and when asked how he is, will often reply, "Fair to middlin."




    A founding member of High Tide Church, Lew commits his time in many aspects of the church. Lew has been a Christian since the age of 12, with a number of years living a worldly life. He made a re-commitment in the early 1990's to be available to be in God's will. Lew serves High Tide as the Deacon responsible for the worship. His lovely wife, Bonnie, has been a guiding force in his life, raising two great children, Craig, married to Jenny with their children, Taylor and Colin, and Brandee, married to Scott with their children Trevor and Michaiah. They consider themselves to be very blessed.



    Shirley was born and raised in Frederick, Maryland. As a child, she attended a Lutheran Church where, in 1963, she accepted Jesus as her Saviour. Shirley married her husband, Dave, in 1981. Shirley has a daughter and two awesome grandchildren, Tai and Sienna. In 2003, she retired from Verizon to work on their farm in Boonsboro, Maryland. The many trips to Bethany Beach convinced Dave and Shirley to move to the area and to eventually find their church home at High Tide. She recommitted her life to Jesus and was baptized in 2010. Shirley volunteers on the prayer team, in GForce, RipTides, the local school, wherever there is a need that she can fill. Shirley feels blessed beyond measure to be a part of the High Tide family.



    Curt grew up in Needmore, Pennsylvania and as a youth, he accepted Christ into his life. While in Pennsylvania, he worked as a carpenter for his grandfather. His grandfather was a strong mentor in his life and influenced his eventual career choice, project manager for NVHomes. In 1997, Curt married Michelle. They have a daughter, Cheyenne and a son, Wyatt. As a family, they serve High Tide in many ways; setting up and tearing down, working in G-Force and small groups, as well as missions, foster parenting and other community outreaches. Curt credits High Tide with enabling him to grow in Christ; providing fellowship with other believers and Christian mentors.



    Dan joined the High Tide team after 5 years as the Middle School Associate Youth and Worship Pastor at Fellowship Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. Dan attended Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City TN where he received a degree in Communications and Sociology. He was pleased to return to his hometown area, as he grew up in Ocean City, Maryland. Dan's wife, Emily, also helps with worship. Togther, they are raising two children, Graham and Madeline. Dan is passionate about helping others find their place within the Body of Christ and watching them grow and develop in their walk with Jesus.



    Tanya Ehlers works part-time on staff as the Childrens Director. She grew up in Ocean City, Maryland, the daughter of Terry Davis, pastor at Ocean City Baptist Church. Tanya attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where she met and married Andy Ehlers. After receiving a Masters of Divinity with an emphasis in Christian Education, both she and Andy felt God's call to plant a church in the Northeast. Eventually, they were led to Southern Delaware where High Tide Church was established. As Andy began duties as the Pastor, Tanya wanted to use her education to teach children the Bible. Her passion is to see them learn the Bible in fun and creative ways. Tanya is the mother of Raychel, Camryn, Leilani and Drew. They all enjoy taking part in the many activities at High Tide.



    Julie grew up in Maryland, but has lived in Delaware and been a part of High Tide since 2006. Julie has degrees in Elementary Education (B.S), Educational Technology (M.Ed.) and School Counseling (M.Ed.) which she utilizes in her capacity as Preschool Director. Julie loves sharing her enthusiasm to teach preschoolers that God made them, that He loves them and that He wants to be their friend forever. She lives in West Fenwick with her two daughters, Elle and Ava. Together, they love spending time with family, friends and especially enjoying summertime activities.
